How to Use the Dough Mat
Follow these simple steps to roll out dough efficiently, cleanly, and safely:
Step 1: Prep Your Workspace
Lay the DoughMAT flat on a clean countertop or table.
Ensure the non-slip silicone side is facing down to keep it firmly in place.
Optional: Lightly dust the top with flour if working with extra sticky dough.
Step 2: Insert Guide Sticks (If Desired)
Choose a set of guide sticks based on the desired dough thickness:
(1/16", 1/8", 1/4", 1/2", or 3/4")
Place one stick on each side of the mat.
You can also stack guide sticks and secure them with included rubber bands to create custom thickness levels.
Step 3: Roll Out Your Dough
Place your dough in the center of the mat.
Use your rolling pin (preferably the aluminum DoughMAT Rolling Pin) to flatten the dough.
Roll until the dough is even with the guide sticks — ensuring consistent thickness every time.
Step 4: Work Cleanly
Any excess flour stays contained on the mat’s surface — keeping your counters and floors mess-free.
When finished, use a dough scraper or spatula to lift your dough easily from the mat.
Step 5: Clean and Store
Wipe down or rinse the DoughMAT with warm, soapy water, or place it in the dishwasher. Dry it thoroughly before rolling it up.
Store flat or rolled in a drawer, cabinet, or storage tube.
Helpful Tips:
Always dry the DoughMAT completely before storing to prevent mold or buildup.
Avoid sharp knives or cutters directly on the mat to preserve the silicone surface.
The mat and guide sticks are designed to reduce the need for excessive flour and limit dough overworking.
